NBRSARCHITECTURE presenting at Australian Communities Forum 2013
This one day event aims to equip you with the latest trends redefining Australian communities with a focus on how to build, shape, and engage your community in all their diversity.
This year’s theme, ‘From Generation to Generation’ will empower you to engage with all generations from the oldest to the youngest, maintaining relevance from era to era.
Andrew Duffin from NBRSARCHITECTURE will be presenting on the topic of ‘Placemaking: How to Create Engaging Community Spaces‘
Environments around us are continually transforming, yet it is not merely a spatial element we need consider but so much more. Creating engaging community spaces requires a strong commitment to excellence in design and a people-focused approach. It is essential that innovative spaces are developed that encourage holistic wellbeing and life efficiency, and taking the time to consider how people connect with their built environment is not only engaging but essential.
In this session, Andrew will address the notion of community and its connection, identification and representation in built environments and space. He will explore why our DNA points us to the idea of society, how this is interpreted through our environments, how the health and identity of a community is represented through placemaking, and what defines the Spirit of Place in the context of creating engaged participation through design and architecture.
We encourage you to join us in thinking about how you can positively shape & engage with your community.
