Inclusive Living at Crowle Residential Estate
NBRSARCHITECTURE is all about creating life changing environments. No better example has been our partnership with Achieve Australia to assist with the redevelopment of Crowle Gardens Residential Estate which provides inclusive living for people with disabilities. The project was officially opened this week and is the first development in the world to integrate Specialised Disability Accommodation with a medium-high density residential development.
Achieve Australia has operated for 65 years providing support for people with disability through accommodation, employment and services. Its emphasis today is to support residents to choose from a variety of life style options to encourage inclusions in the community.
Crowle Gardens is a 416 apartment development in Ryde, Sydney centred around the original heritage Tellaraga House. Achieve Australia has retained 22 of these new apartments for their residents salt and peppered through the development. NBRS established the Planning Proposal submitted to NSW Planning and created the initial blocking layout with respectful relationship to the heritage of the site.
The architectural site planning set the principles of placing people first and creating the goal of providing lifestyle choice. We congratulate Achieve Australia on leading the way in integration of all people.
