The Fenwick: From Restoration to Restaurant
The Iconic former base of Fenwick & Co, also known as the Bell’s Store, has recently opened as a new restaurant Fenwick. The iconic feature along the Balmain coastline was restored by the NBRS ARCHITECTURE Heritage and Life & Culture Studios.

The 1880s building was first home to Fenwick & Co, a tugboat operator. The iconic sandstone building sits beside the Balmain East ferry wharf and is an integral part of the heritage landscape of Balmain.

A once dilapidated structure, the building has been given a new life as a restaurant and art gallery. The restaurant ‘The Fenwick’ is part of the family of restaurants also home to Aqua Dining, Ripples Milsons Point and Jardin St James. A fantastic example of how heritage buildings can give new life and vibrancy to a local area.
