Sharing Knowledge and Staying Connected During Lockdown
As a practice we aim to foster a culture of learning, by providing a variety of opportunities for our team members to learn, develop and upskill.
Over the last few weeks we have seen our working model turn on its head, transitioning to a fully remote model. With our entire workforce working from home we have examined and adapted our learning approaches to enable on-line delivery.
To ensure virtual sessions would be a beneficial tool for our team, we considered what makes a physical workshop successful – this includes being engaging, interactive and delivering clear outcomes.

Using Teams and Zoom we have continued our commitment to learning through virtual CPD sessions. These sessions are focused and allow our team to improve their professional knowledge and competence.
Our APE Study Group has also moved online to prepare our graduates for their Architectural Practice Exams. Each session is delivered via participant led workshops, improving presentation and communication skills and allowing for knowledge sharing amongst our team.
To maintain our design dialogue across the practice and ensure cross-pollination of ideas from our multi-disciplinary studios, we have transitioned our design workshops online. These workshops and design-pin ups allow for our design thinking to be honed and for concepts to be shared. Sharing screens and virtual whiteboards allow for focused interaction and collaboration.
In this time of uncertainty, we are working to keep everyone engaged and involved. Staying connected, and sharing knowledge is key to steering our team successfully through the coming months.
