HERITAGE ARCHITECTUREThe Heritage Studio has been an integral part of NBRSARCHITECTURE since the mid 1970s. Over the years the team has grown and evolved, yet their dedication and enduring connections with clients and projects remains a key element of the Studio.
The team is comprised of heritage consultants, architects and historians. A well rounded and diverse range of skills gives the Studio ample support and a rich knowledge to draw upon. Heritage conservation requires a detailed understanding of the use of traditional materials, building technologies and conservation principles to allow appropriate policies and actions to be projects. The Studio works across many facets of heritage including adaptive re use, heritage interpretation, writing heritage impact statements and conservation development plans.
The Studio is led by Samantha Polkinghorne. With over 20 years’ experience across Australia, the UK, the Middle East and Asia, Samantha is passionate about conserving, protecting and giving new life to buildings of historic significance. As a registered architect she brings to heritage consultancy a depth of knowledge and a deep understanding of all processes involved across the lifespan of a building.
