Macella is Studio Principal of the NBRSARCHITECTURE Education Studio. In this role Macella is across all of the education projects within the studio. She is responsible for ensuring that the work is being performed to the high levels expected within the practice. These standards apply to the design of the buildings, the technical aspects of the design, as well as the ethical and sustainability aspects of architecture.
Macella has over 20 years of experience of working as a registered architect with a particular interest in Educational Facilities. Her main area of experience includes Regional Catholic Primary and Secondary schools where she developed boarding facilities, TAS buildings and multipurpose halls.
Since joining the NBRS Education Studio in 2018, Macella has implemented her knowledge and experience to design learning environments that support a range of teaching and learning modes. Recent projects include Epping and Carlingford Public Schools as well as Armidale Secondary College. Armidale Secondary College is a purpose built Department of Education high school with capacity for 1580 students. The state of the art school will be based around learning neighbourhoods with special cultural references.
