A Responsive Campus for a Dynamic, Growing Community
The rapidly developing suburb of Byford, to the south east of Perth, is home to a new school facility incorporating an Early Learning Centre (ELC), Primary, and Secondary Schools, a Parish Centre and potential future TAFE facilities. NBRSARCHITECTURE provided input to the master plan in conjunction with Paterson Group Architects on behalf of the Catholic Education Office for Byford College. The ELC play spaces will incorporate traditional play elements such as sandpits, water play, soft fall and synthetic grass areas for supervised play. It will include elements to engage the children’s senses and extended learning, with textured stone and timber surfaces, sensory gardens and herb and vegetable plots. Gardens as well as tree planting connects to the broader landscape treatments of the site. Additionally, Plant types will feature mainly endemic native species.
