A Multi-Use Grandstand within a Delicate Environment
Adding a 500-seat grandstand to a leafy, environmentally sensitive war memorial sports oval at Barker college, Sydney, has resulted in a delicate incision that provides protected space for outdoor learning and socialising. NBRS’s design solution created 3 small canopy pods seating approximately 30 people each and one larger canopy including tiered seating with capacity for 500 people. The sensitive arrangement of pods enhances the landscape setting whilst maximising seating capacity.
