Advice and Conservation for Transforming an Industrial Warehouse into a Boutique Hotel
This project involved the adaptation of a five-storey heritage-listed warehouse with office fit out into a boutique hotel. Consequently the brick and sandstone facades, internal timber structure and one of the cart ways were adapted and conserved. NBRS provided heritage advice to the project architect to develop an innovative design. The new design removes intrusive elements and exposes the most significant parts of the building to public use. Overall the heritage input on this project sustains and conserves the significant fabric with a long-term viable use of the building.
