Senior Heritage Consultant

NBRS Heritage Studio is continuing to grow and we are now on the look-out for a Senior Heritage Consultant to join our experienced team.

This is a rare opportunity for a seasoned professional with a passion for Heritage advice and conservation to join our multi-disciplinary practice and contribute to the growth and development of a high-performing team.

The Role: 

Working within the Heritage Studio and as part of a dynamic team, you will be responsible for writing reports and providing heritage advice to external clients and NBRS architectural projects.

The role is responsible for providing advice across all areas of heritage management and conservation practice including; heritage studies, thematic histories, heritage assessments, nominations; impact statements; conservation management strategies and conservation management plans; condition assessments; conservation schedule of works; maintenance schedules; expert evidence; archival recording and interpretation plans.

Utilising your excellent writing and advisory skills, the role will see you prepare reports on development feasibility with respect to heritage management issues; recommend maintenance strategies to remediate deteriorated fabric and maintain buildings and sites; and assist in the development of precedents of services and products.

In addition to Heritage knowledge, you will also have excellent interpersonal skills to liaise and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

This is a ‘hands on’ role and we need a real team player with positive attitude to take on each new task, no matter how big or small.

To be successful in the role you will have/be: 

  • A Post Graduate qualification in Architecture, Heritage Management, Archaeology or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working as a Heritage Consultant or in a similar role providing Heritage advice.
  • Full membership of Australia ICOMOS, is desirable.
  • Ability to be listed as a consultant on the Heritage Consultants Directory of the Heritage Branch of the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage.
  • Ability to be listed as a Heritage Advisor within the Heritage Advisors’ Network of the Heritage Branch of the NSW Office of Environment & Heritage.
  • A holistic understanding of heritage issues, including appreciation of environmental, natural heritage, movable heritage/collections, ethnic and Indigenous issues.
  • Sound knowledge of conservation policies and practice, and suitable experience in heritage conservation work.
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve problems and negotiate acceptable solutions to issues involving heritage matters.
  • Ability to be involved in multiple projects with differing levels of complexity.
  • Approachable with strong organisational, prioritising and time management skills.
  • Ability to engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholder across all levels.

Project Architect

We are currently undertaking a number of industry leading projects and have a great opportunity for dynamic and experienced individuals to join our multi-disciplinary practice and contribute to the growth and development of a high-performing team.

The Role:

Working as part of a close-knit project team and reporting to an Associate/Studio Principal; this role will manage projects from inception to completion, including all aspects of design, documentation, contract administration, quality control, project management, contract administration and client management.

In this role you will utilise your multi-tasking, time management and prioritising skills to liaise with other architecture & design professionals, clients and consultants.

You will also be required to prepare and present regular project reports to both internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring quality outcomes across all aspects of the project – design, technical and administrative.

This is a ‘hands on’ role and we need a real team player with a positive attitude to take on each new task, no matter how big or small. The role is ideal for someone looking for the next step in their career with a supportive team, long-term development and growth opportunities.

To be successful in the role you will have/be: 

  • A recognised architectural degree and current practising registration as an Architect in Australia. Architect registration in NSW is preferable, however, the role is open to professionals registered in other Australian states.
  • At least 5 years’ post graduate experience having worked across all project stages from inception to completion.
  • Strong knowledge of BCA, Australian Standards and Planning framework.
  • Demonstrated experience in preparing and coordinating drawings and documentation in a Revit and a BIM platform.
  • Demonstrated client management skills with the ability to negotiate desirable outcomes.
  • The ability to manage the work of a project team, including consultants, sub-consultants, graduate architects and architectural assistants.
  • Experience working with builders and developers on site, is desirables.
  • Proven verbal, graphic and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
  • Approachable with strong organisational, prioritising and time management skills.
  • The ability to engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholder across all levels.

Landscape Architect

The Role:

As part of a dynamic team, you will coordinate, communicate and design a series of landscape projects from inception to completion. Our landscape studio is engaged in a diverse range of projects across multiple sectors including Education & Learning spaces, Justice & Corrections, Cemeteries, Water Parks, Parks & Playgrounds, Public Domain & Streetscapes, Multi-Residential, Health, Wellness and Aged Care.

Working closely with Studio Principal, Senior Landscape Architects and other Architecture & Design professionals, you will assist in preparation of master plans, concept plans, detail designs, tender and construction documentation.

The role will also see you preparing and presenting regular project reports to both internal and external stakeholders whilst ensuring quality outcomes across all aspects of your work.

We are seeking an individual, with proven multi-tasking, time management and prioritising skills to liaise with other design professionals, clients and consultants.

This is a ‘hands on’ role and we need a real team player with positive attitude to take on each new task, no matter how big or small.

To be successful in the role you will have/be: 

  • A recognised degree in Landscape Architecture.
  • 4-5 years of post graduate experience, having worked across all project stages from inception to completion.
  • Membership with the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects with a desire to achieve registration.
  • Demonstrated experience using CAD sotfware packages. Experience in Revit is highly desirable.
  • Ability to be involved in multiple projects with differing levels of complexity, in various stages of completion.
  • The ability to engage and build relationships with internal and external stakeholder across all levels.
  • Proven verbal, graphic and written communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic with a positive attitude.
  • Approachable with strong organisational, prioritising and time management skills.
